“if your actions INSPIRE others to dream more, to learn more, to become more, then you are a LEADER!”, this is how newly-elected President Marilyn Costuna opened her speech during the 2019 Board of Directors Induction of Officers in the chancery hall of Philippine Embassy Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 25, 2019.
She also said that, “there is no higher calling than public service and being a leader, we must equip ourselves not only with intelligence, but the ability to connect, inspire and empower others”, that strong message gives a determination to lead the Society by uplifting the quality education.
This year’s theme “Technology, Knowledge, Society: Strengthening OFWs Global Connections through ICT Education and Non-Technical Expertise” aims to unite and strengthen Filipino connection and challenge their expertise to learn more, gain more and to become more competitive in terms of ICT education.
During the Induction ceremony, each officers solemnly swear to sincerely perform their duties and responsibilities for the entire 2019. Third Consul Noel Rodriguez administered the oath-taking ceremony. In the privilege speech of Consul Rodriguez, he conveys the message of Ambassador Adnan V. Alonto regarding how COMSOFIL strives to empower Overseas Filipinos in KSA in the field of Information and Communications Technology which is truly commendable.
The much awaited annual elevation of outgoing President is usually one of the highlights during the Induction of Officers where former President Ronel K. Pabico expected to be elevated and be part of the Board of Trustees this year, but due to unforeseen and undeliverable matters, the elevation did not prosper.
Former President Pabico served the Society for more than ten (10) years as volunteer Instructor and Board of Director where he achieved so many accomplishments during his term.
The event was concluded with a closing remarks from the upcoming BoT Chairman Van Eric Rodrin.
