The challenge of covid-19 pandemic has never been a hindrance to another great milestone of a pioneer Filipino skills training center in Riyadh, the Comsofil International, Incorporated located at the Elite International School in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The year-end graduation of 2021 was a manifestation of another great success. Holding a face to face graduation in the abnormal situation is very challenging, yet fulfilling. The determination and a true service from the heart made the December 2021 graduation another successful endeavor. For two years since the promising virus of covid-19 surprised the whole world, the Comsofil leadership need to strategize and adapt the, what we called “new normal in the educational system”. The second semester of 2021 was a proof that the mixed approach, the face to face and the online classes were delivered and that was mission accomplished.
In testimony of the second semester’s success, Comsofil has produced 582 successful graduates from various clusters. This is the proof that pandemic never stopped our fellow OFWs to pursue their dreams to be equipped with the necessary tools they can use in their professional and personal growth and the committed Comsofil Instructors, support staff and its leaders. December 17, 2021 marks the 48th graduation ceremony. Imagine how many years the Comsofil has been serving the Filipinos in Riyadh and the nearby regions of Saudi Arabia. The pandemic also offered the opportunity to other Filipinos residing in the Philippines and in some areas because of the online platform used to deliver the desired learning outcomes.
The graduation ceremony was open at 07:00 in the morning with a registration of all students, teachers and support staff members. On stage to begin the program were the two high energy program host, Mr. Charlotte L. Villones and Ramil M. Espanola.
The program was started with the Christian and Muslim prayers, followed by the Philippine National Anthem. Its incumbent President Mr. Marvin Domalaon gave his welcome address followed by the awarding of certificates and plaques of appreciation to the BOD’s, support staff, Instructors and assistant Instructors 2021 headed by BOT Chairman Nomer Cenil.
On this momentous ceremony, Comsofilians were delighted to have the special guest Mr. Paolo Zurita, the Philippine Embassy’s Third Secretary and Vice Consul in Riyadh Saudi Arabia who graced the occasion on behalf of the our Ambassador Adnan Villaluna Alonto.

Another highlight of the graduation ceremony was the declaration of voting to elect the new set of officers by BOT Juanitchi Ulanday, followed by the Inspirational message of the past President Ramil Sumile. While the BOD-VP Membership Neriza M. Pantaleon, shared his successful story from being a cleaner to a trusteed Computer Lass doing the Medical Approval Clerk’s duty in one of the popular hospitals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
One of the unique part of the commencement exercises was the election of the new set of officers who accepted the challenging role in running the Comsofil academic system. These elected individuals will serve are Board of Directors of the organization for one training year (2022-2023) who elected among themselves with the specific positions as follows: President, Arnel S. Sanchez; VP Education, Roger F. Nachor; VP Membership, Camille N. Cabansag; VP Finance, Michael D. Mabubay; VP Engineering, Larry M. De Jesus; Secretary, Neriza M. Pantaleon; Auditor, Rejoel B. Escasinas; PRO , Gemma G. Maula; AVP Education, Gemma C. Montejo and Alberto A. Adina; AVP Membership, Junel B. Guiriba; AVP Finance, Orly U. Candaza; AVP Engineering, Jose T. Atienza, Michael M. Montalban and Virgel C. Madrid; and the longtime fellow Mr. Antonio ”Ekart” A. Gayeta as the Assistant PROs.
Clearly, Comsofil International has achieved another milestone in assisting the OFWs adapt the new normal in this pandemic era by being adept in the use of technology in the service to its kababayans. This graduation ceremony closes the old, yet opens another chapter to everyone’s journey with its graduation theme; “Adapting Modern ICT Standards as Digital Transformation: Keys to an OFW’s Sustainable Future”
