Photography in its basic form is all about understanding photographs, the art or practice of taking and processing photos. This
class will give you a better understanding of the fundamental element on how to take photos in any medium, for as long as
digital technology is involved. We will focus on core of the photography techniques, the basic camera functions, settings and
different gears that can take a photograph. We will also be discussing the photography compositions, rules and how to break
them. The course will also include hands on demonstration with the gears and workshops on editing techniques. To get a
better grasp of what we will be studying in the course, we are organizing shoots indoors and outdoors (upon school approval).
Expect to finish the class with the capacity to produce compelling imagery
Supplies
A digital camera is a priority. No brand, manufacturers or model is recommended though full manual exposure controls are very essential. RAW producing
cameras are vital in photo editing. Camera gears, camera lenses will depend on subject requirements, together with the accessories that come with the
system. Tripod is helpful for those landscape photographers as well as lighting stands are essential for portrait and studio set ups. Options are to be
discussed throughout the course
Policies
When a student has already decided to take basic photography, as advancement with the field, this course is also for your enrichment. Attendance is a must
due to the nature of course, it will be difficult to set up and organize specially on actual shoots of technique presentations. If you must miss a session,
resources are available upon request. While we will not be able to fully re-teach the lesson, we will be available to the students. Do come with questions
often. Don’t hesitate to ask for subjects that are not clear. We hope you can also voice out the quality of teaching we are rendering. We learn by test doing,
as we believe that photography is indeed an intentional skill.
