Indeed, the time of the Pandemic has caused great misery and hitches to almost everyone. Many industries in different business sectors have temporarily or permanently closed and forced to displace or terminate their employees. Also, all schools and most Filipino communities providing skills training to OFWs have temporarily suspended or permanently ceased their operation. As a result, a significant number of OFWs lost their jobs, and the competition for job security increased tremendously. The multi-skilled ones can have more opportunities in winning job security in this situation. Therefore, the education system must adapt to the current condition and continue its service in providing an opportunity for those determined to learn and gain more skills and win in the competition of job security.
Despite the great ordeal almost everyone is experiencing caused by the Pandemic, COMSOFIL, the leading Filipino Community providing skills training services to OFWs and their family members in Saudi Arabia, even in the Philippines, and other countries, stand firm. COMSOFIL will remain and continue to be strong and determined to uphold its mission and vision to harness Filipino Professionals by sharing with them the technical know and expertise in Empowering Overseas Filipino Workforce by providing training that equips knowledge, skills, and right attitude that gives the OFWs greater hope for jobs security, more opportunities, and higher competency in their careers.
This year marks another momentous day at COMSOFIL with the 910 graduates in 46 different clusters, has proven success despite the Pandemic with this year’s 2021 theme, “Adapting Modern ICT Standards as Digital Transformation: Keys to an OFW’S Sustainable Future.” Additionally, more trainees are taking four (4) clusters in one semester to gain more new skills in a shorter period. Thus, it enables them to shift into a different career or venture into a business that improves their quality of living and helps build a brighter future for their family.
The Spirit of Volunteerism lives on and keeps growing in COMSOFIL through a prodigious collaboration of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Board of Directors (BODs), and Facilitators’ untiring efforts, dedications, sacrifices, and determination to share their expertise, knowledge, and skills with the trainees, who then become the next volunteer member of the Facilitators, BODs, and BOTs.
