“It is very important to provide nutrient-dense foods for older adults and patients with some cases of disease” this is how Ms. Jovelyn C. Arong concluded her statement during her class presentation for Nutrition/ Diet on May 11, 2023 in COMSOFIL Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Caregiving students of Computer Society of Filipinos gathered for a very nutritional information as part of their final cluster demonstration. Around twenty-eight (28) students were group into four to present their own research about patients who is suffering from some chronic disease, but it must limit their food to prevent any possible complications or risk. Food and Beverages for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were presented in a very artistic way of arrangement to enhance its aesthetic appeal to the audience. Some of the groups shared several characteristics of nutritious food to combat any possible risks and most of them are coming from their own experiences. Facts about nutrition food are basically based on their own research through the guidance of their instructor and a disclaimer that all of their presentation are not intended to treat some chronic diseases.

Caregiving cluster course was offered by COMSOFIL Riyadh six years back when the society started to align their scope of teaching from ICT and include Non-ICT cluster courses, this was also a year which the society produced 99% TESDA passing rate from different field of study.

Registered Nurse Ms. Jovelyn C. Arong, who also obtained her master’s in nursing is currently serving as member of the 2023 Board of Directors and the Instructor of Caregiving 1 & 2, she assures that all her students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills as per the requirements of TESDA.

She is currently preparing her students to undergo a refresher course before the Assessment of TESDA which will be scheduled on June 23, 24 & 25 in the office of Department of Migrant Workers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia through the support of Assistant Labour Attaché Lucille T. Gayaman.

Present during the Nutrition/Diet demonstration are the President of COMSOFIL Riyadh Mr. Michael D. Mabubay, AVP PRO Sittie Pontino, Auditor Farcena Mohammad, and VP Finance Charlotte L. Villones who gave a final evaluation of their presentation where RENAL DIET group declared as the winner. –
